Philippians 4:13- I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me
I have NO IDEA what God has planned for my life. Maybe I shouldn’t say I have no idea. I have been teaching for a while, bible study, Sunday School, various workshops. I am married to a Pastor. I kinda know what’s next so I guess I should say I have NO IDEA what it will look like. Yeah, that makes sense. What I DO know, though, is that I have been prepared for this, whatever this is?!? How though? Who am I?
Well…I’m a wife. A daughter. A sister. A leader. An athlete. A Christian. An accountant. A teacher. Really…I’m the girl who always steps up. Who typically says Yes…but is learning to say No. Who probably has control issues but doesn’t mind being the pusher. Now, at 32, I can say I am just a black girl saying “Yes, God…take over my life! Lead me and Strengthen me for the work ahead.” I didn’t sign up for this life…but since I’m here….Let’s do this!
Philippians tells me I can do all things through Christ…why did I apply that to every other part of my life, except God’s work? Maybe it wasn’t the cool thing to do. Maybe because I didn’t know how to. Maybe because I didn’t know what others would say. Maybe because I had other things to do. Any of these sounds familiar? Sure they do…these are the same excuses WE ALL give God. Reasons we can’t study the bible, reasons we can’t attend church, reasons we can’t be active in church, reasons we can’t work out, reasons we can’t go back to school…I could go on.
What’s my goal with this? I want people to be BETTER. Sounds simple. But it’s not for some reason. Through my blog, my thoughts, my perspective, hopefully someone will be encouraged to take the next step. Whether in ministry, at work, getting healthy…wherever you need to be better…BE BETTER! And let God lead the way…
God wants us to be better! And, per my favorite verse quoted above, He will give us strength to make it happen. When God says move, better getting going!
Welcome to my blog. My life! My random thoughts… Stay tuned…
(I apologize in advance if you are easily offended. I actually offend myself as well. The Word is a double edged sword though so as I minister to others, I always check myself first. So..Really…I am not sorry! #sorryNOTsorry)
Peace. Blessing. Love.
